008 – Why I Don’t Want to Change the World

My whole life I’ve wanted to change the world. I defined this by: everyone knowing who I am, being super famous and using my status to “make a difference.”

But the thing is, I don’t believe anyone is going to change the world. Instead, I believe that each person is going to make a series of choices that impact the lives of others. Impacting the lives of others is what changes the world. (For better or worse)

I guess I’ve redefined what changing the world actually means to me. And by having fierce and passionate and authentic experiences with those I encounter, I impact the lives of others. I can trust that these encounters will lead to small acts of changing the world-ness. I don’t want to change the world, I want to meet its people.

So by not trying to change the world, everyone in fact, will.
